A. Create Proxmox CT

  1. From the main Proxmox page, select Create CT to launch the Create: LXC Container dialog window.

  2. Tick the Advanced box and then enter CT ID of 120, Hostname of <dc>-maas, create a non-trivial password for root and save in your password manager MaaS {ICR} and optionally add your ssh public key. Select Next.

  3. Select the ubuntu-22.04-standard template. Select Next.

  4. Use 30GB as the disk size. Select Next.

  5. Set cores to 8. Select Next.

  6. Set the Memory and Swap to 4096. Select Next.

  7. Set the Bridge to vmbr1 (LAN), uncheck the Firewall option, set the IPv4 to Static with an IP of 10.10.100.20/24 (CIDR is required), Gateway of 10.10.100.1, set the IPv6 to SLAAC. Select Next.

  8. No changes are required for the DNS tab. Select Next

  9. Tick the Start after created option. Select Finish.

  10. When complete, close the dialog window.

  11. After the VM has started ensure that Proxmox has it set to “Start at boot.”
  12. Select the VM on the left navigation menu and then select options. Double click Start at Boot, and tick the box, and select ok
