Goal

The mission of our Naming System Working Group is to establish guiding standards for name resolution. These standards will serve as the blueprint for the design and functionality of our Chain Name System (CNS), envisioned as a scalable platform fostering an efficient discoverability layer.

Objectives

Trust - Empower users to host their domain records on a registry that they can trust and verify.

Decentralization - Promote a system where top-level domains (TLDs) are owned by a diverse group of TLD operators, chosen by the very community they serve.

Ownership - Provide services that allow users and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) to register new domain names and acquire complete ownership.
